Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination • Conducted dry weather inspections of stormwater discharge points throughout MS4. • Distributed informational brochures regarding the Town Illicit Discharge Ordinance. • Maintained Stormwater System Map (GIS) and Stormwater Pollution Hotline. • Conducted employee training for public works employees regarding detecting and reporting illicit discharges and proper use of vehicle/equipment cleaning station with oil/water separator. Construction Site Runoff Controls • The Town has provided through educational brochures and establishment and promotion of the stormwater pollution hotline a means for the public to notify the appropriate authorities (Stormwater Director— Public Works Department) of observed erosion and sedimentation problems. Post -Construction Site Runoff Controls The Town Council adopted the Phase 11 Post -Construction ordinance after review and approval from NCDWQ. The ordinance requires long-term operation and maintenance of structural BMPs and annual inspection reports of permitted structural BMPs performed by a qualified professional. Deed Restrictions and Protective Covenants are required for compliance with the new Post -Construction ordinance. Improved stormwater management plan guidance materials distributed to applicants for single family and duplex development projects. Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations • Continued catch basin cleaning program. • Continued operation of Town facility for disposal/recycling of used oil and filters. • Conducted training for public works employees regarding pollution prevention and good housekeeping practices during routine departmental functions. • Conducted inspections of facilities and reviewed operations for good housekeeping practices.
