Director of Engineering and Maintenance Since the last NPDES permit renewal, the following changes have taken place at the NC State Ports Authority, Prot of Wilmington. • Currently wood products, logs and woodchips have become the prevalent commodity that is stored outdoors. We do not have any additional bulk materials being stored outside at the time and have not in several years. We have also installed two 4+ million gallon AST's on the Port. These currently contain Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN liquid fertilizer). The entire vessel loading and unloading system is fully contained. The loading of trucks and railcars is also performed in a closed system. In an effort to reduce wood fines from entering the collection system, we have installed several grate inlet protection devices in the area of the log operation.
