On March 7, 2017, Duke Energy requested a minor correct of typographic errors in the
NPDES Permit, NCS000581. The permit contained two typographic errors. The first error concerns
the analytical monitoring schedule. The monitoring period end date should be December 31 and
the second semi-annual sampling period of each associated year. The second error concerns the
wrong permit number listed at the top of each page beginning in Part I. On May 2, 2017, Duke
Energy requested removal of Outfall SW-3 from the permit. The outfall has been removed and the
area regraded to provide sheet flow.
The Division has reviewed and approved Duke Energy's request dated March 7, 2017, and
May 2, 2017. DEQ has corrected the typographic errors, removed the PCB reference from the bench
mark tables, and removed of Outfall SW-3 from the permit. This modification is issued pursuant to
the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 143-215 .1 and the Memorandum of Agreement
between North Carolina and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency dated October 15, 2007 (or
as subsequently amended).
