Each of the four containment areas on these pads are equipped with a sump pit and pump. The Railside Tank Farm does have concrete block containment but without the sump pump system. Procedures for releasing stormwater accumulating in these areas will be described in the Spill Prevention and Response section below. 2.4 Best Management Practices (BMPs) A Stormwater Management system has been designed, permitted and constructed. Stormwater will be conveyed through swales to a wet detention pond. After drawdown, runoff will be conveyed by outlet spreader through a vegetated filter strip. There is a stormwater pond that is currently in use on site. The pond is designed to catch runnoff from the ground's natural slope. Stormwater collected from ADI's tank areas and sampled to determine if it is to be released or must be treated. The following chart shows the requirements for water to be discharged. 2.5 Benchmark Values for Analytical Monitoring Discharge Characteristics Units Benchmark Biological Oxygen Demand, 5 day m /L 30 Chemical Oxygen Demand m /L 120 Total K'eldahl Nitrogen m /L 20 Oil and Grease m /L 30 H Standard 4.3-9 Total Suspended Solids m /L 100 Iso ro al Alcohol m /L 4,300 Methanol m /L 7,700 Ethanol m /L 3,900 T-But I Alcohol m /L 3,200 If sampled stormwater that does not meet the standards listed in their stormwater permit, then it is pumped to Tank 50 where it is enters a cleaning process. The stormwater is air stripped to remove volatiles, then it is run through a sand filter. At this point it is ready to be retested and sent to POTW if below the discharge limits. Stormwater that meets the stated discharge limits is discharged through a swale that runs into the Cartwheel Branch Creek. Inspection of Stormwater Conveyances The following procedure will be used to limit or prevent erosion associated with stormwater systems. A) 1. Periodic inspections (semi-annual minimum) will be performed on the entire stormwater system in conjunction with log sheets 2. A Log sheet will contain: Date and time Signature of inspector Work order number for any required repairs Work required under remarks Work completed date 3. These records will be kept in the main control room for a period of five years. B) All tanks and equipment will be inspected during the 6 A.M. daily inventory for any signs of leakage. Any leaks detected will be reported as outlined in the spill prevention/response program in this manual. C) A preventative maintenance program is outlined in the American Distillation, Inc. Process Safety Management (PSM) manual for process equipment reliability. tT p N W AWN W A-NIW A—N W A S i N N N0 NN N N NNIN IJA N N N{ 00000000—.!R9 Ucnscnrnrn01 0) JJ OOO u1a c W LO W O' N U Z O' co ?OA'\-W+mNA8D N C 9 1p3 N N N N N N N D N A: fJ N tb O U O Cl1 U O O T O Q1 O 0 0 0 J 0 J1J 0 0 0 0 O <7 y U N _ o fD G ^ co 0 o W yJ N A N U N cn J ,p N M W 0 o o OCn cn U _` n JA 01 -'O W w 01 J U J W A N (T O J O N J WO O f- J A O O r -I Z O O N JN OJ -a 01N W N-nO y W NO3 U r iA A A A A A A A A .A A A n 00 O CD CD O' wA_^.cnncnncnncnnvncnnu'U,1'.:c" C oD bl000 rn o? 3 J A A A A A A A A A A V p O r m IW J ^ OOODUUUUU'JI A A A n A A A 11 A: A A Ct UIUU FWD O0 O r 4' A A A A A A A IkEk A I A A A A A A; A A O O W D J 0 0 0 U U U U U U o U o of O> OJ m J v 01 J J 01 O) Pi41 0 O pp _ _ -4 W N N t U[ O N v N OA1 w 00 C N 41 z O O (D O O O O O O O_ O O O O O O C i0 O CT C)i CT (31 6) O O O V V V V CD N OD w OD 00 v w m 3 CD O n 0 0 O a 0 0 w T O w 7 O OQ N CA C N CD CL 1 CD a 0 a N 0 w 3 O CD CD CD m 0 S N O v O) O 0 N O 7 CD 3 RL N T z (n z v 0) w m mO 3 o A CD :. w 0 rt o Lt N O O N w A o O p 7 O 3. ro 00 H 10 z 0
