LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate) MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate) DUP - Sample Duplicate RPD - Relative Percent Difference NC - Not Calculable. SG - Silica Gel - Clean -Up U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected. Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether. A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA Method 8260. N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for each anatyte is a combined concentration. Pace Analytical is TNI accredited. Couple of things to note: Oil & Grease sample for 301 was inadvertently destroyed (dropped) by the lab. Since we have not had a historical precedent for O&G issues here, we feel that the lab report narrative and an explanation on the results table for the missing data should suffice. Let us know otherwise. COD results from Newport River (2,730 mg/L) and Bogue Sound (30,900 mg/L) were high and exceeded the COD permit benchmark limit of 120 mg/L. These results support our theory that tidally influenced waters are influencing site COD stormwater results. The samples were collected right off of the wharves, as far away as possible from any nearby stormwater discharge points. The COD for 907 (741 mg/L) exceeded the COD permit benchmark limit. This was the only sample that was collected from waters that were tidally influenced. All others were collected at low tide (rising) conditions with outgoing flow observed or from surface flows into the respective features. There was no other way to sample this feature (manhole with 8-10 foot vertical drop to bottom of feature) without waiting for low tide and continued rain, etc. We may want to explore other options for collecting representative samples from this location. Give me a call or email if you have any questions. Thanks.
