HomeMy WebLinkAboutNCS000352_Email RE FRO Recommendation for Rescission_20180806 Alexander, Laura From:Lawyer, Mike Sent:Monday, August 6, 2018 9:34 AM To:Alexander, Laura Subject:RE: \[External\] RE: Permit Rescissions for NC Renewable Energy - Elizabethtown Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Completed Good morning Laura. I hope you had a nice weekend. I have made multiple attempts over the past couple of weeks to get in contact with Mr. Fowler about the subject facility, but he has not returned my calls. I conducted a site visit this past Friday and as indicated on the rescission request form, the entrance gate is locked. I was able to walk along the outside of a portion of the perimeter fence and it was apparent that the facility has been shut down for quite some time and there was no activity. I recommend proceeding with rescission of permit coverage currently issued to NC Renewable Power, LLC. Also, I left a message for the current property owner earlier today to find out their intentions for the property. Ms. Alexander, Please see the attached rescission request for the Elizabethtown Facility NCS000352. The original request has been placed in the mail. Thank you, Mark Fowler From: Bennett, Bradley \[mailto:bradley.bennett@ncdenr.gov\] Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2018 1:01 PM To: Mark Fowler GRP <mfowler@georgiarenewablepower.com> Cc: Weaver, Charles <charles.weaver@ncdenr.gov>; Alexander, Laura <laura.alexander@ncdenr.gov> Subject: Permit Rescissions for NC Renewable Energy - Elizabethtown Mr. Fowler As we discussed the Elizabethtown facility has previously been covered under stormwater permit NCS000352. You indicated that your company no longer owns this facility and you need to rescind the permit. To rescind the stormwater NPDES permit complete this Rescission Request Form and mail one hard copy of the form to Laura Alexander, 1612 MSC, Raleigh, NC 27699-1612. In addition, e-mail the form to Laura Alexander. There is no fee for stormwater industrial permit rescissions. Please note that it can take 1-2 months to process the request because we cannot rescind the permit until DEQ staff conduct a site visit. You also indicated that you had a wastewater NPDES permit for this location you needed to rescind. To handle this you can send an email to Charles Weaver with the Division of Water Quality. They don’t have a rescission form, you just need to send Charles an email request. I have copied him on this email so you have his address.
