TZ Osborne Water Reclamation Facility Improvements —Volume I: Ash Press Replacement
The Ash Press Replacement project is intended to re -purpose the existing Rotary Fan Press, which
dewaters incinerator ash slurry, and install a belt filter press to replace the rotary fan press. The Belt
Filter Press is basically a replacement process mechanical equipment item of a different design, but for
providing the same function. Dewatering capacity of the new belt filter press will match that of the
existing rotary fan press.
The repurposed rotary fan press will require conversion by the manufacturer for its use for dewatering
biosolids. This supplemental, dewatering process is solely for emergency situations when the primary
dewatering system (centrifuges) need support. The rotary fan press is not designed or intended to
provide any additional capacity to the current biosolids system of centrifuges.
