TZ Osborne Water Reclamation Facility Improvements —Volume I: Ash Press Replacement
Existing Rotary Fan Press used to dewater thickened incinerator ash slurry to be relocated within the
Solids Handling Building and converted to dewater thickened sludge. The current, primary sludge
dewatering includes use of three centrifuges. Rotary Fan Press to serve solely under rare occasions as
an alternative/ emergency sludge dewatering system. New Sludge Pumps and Polymer Pumps to be
installed in conjunction with relocated Rotary Fan Press and used to feed Press. Existing conveyor on
Rotary Fan Press to be lengthened and used to convey dewatered biosolids directly to transport trucks.
All dewatered sludge from relocated, converted Rotary Fan Press to be placed in transport trucks until
being taken off-site for disposal at landfill, as is current City practice.
