The coal will be treated at the rine prior to shipping to Roxboro Plant. These chemicals will be used only in the winter months at a rate of approximately 87,000 gallons per month. There is a small potential that some of these chemicals can be discharged into the coal pile runoff pond via stormwater falling on the coal pile. The discharge of the coal pile runoff pond (Outfall 006) has an aquatic toxicity monitoring requirement. If you have any questions or comments regarding this information, please contact Louise England at (919) 362-3522.
