Compliance sampling of all other parameters will continue at the at the current location (ash basin tower). You also requested approval for the possible installation of a carbon dioxide feed system should it be necessary for additional pH control. Based on our review, we have no objections to the installation of the J -tube in the end of the ash basin discharge pipe for the purposes of measuring and determining compliance with the Permit requirement (range) for pH. As for the request to install a carbon dioxide feed system, it has been determined that an Authorization to Construct (ATC) will not be necessary, therefore, such a system can be constructed as needed to help regulate effluent pH fluctuations. 919 North Main Street, Mooresville, North Carolina 28115 Telephone 704-663-1699 FAX 704-663-6040 An Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer 50% recycled/ 10% post -consumer paper Mr. John S.
