Division of Water Quality Attn: DWQ Central Files 1617 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1617 Dear Sir or Madam: Enclosed are the results of our First Semi-Annual Storm Water Discharge Outfall Monitoring Report of 2016. The lab who conducted the sample analysis, Pace Analytical, was unable to obtain a pH reading from our samples this test period. I contacted Mr. James Moore at the Mooresville Regional Office and he directed me to proceed with the June 16, 2016 submittal as long as when we had our next rain event we gather a , pH sample from all outfalls and submit the data at that time. I have collected stormwater from all outfalls except SDO-1 which had no flow during this rain event. I tested the pH of each sample using a Scientific Instruments model no. IQ125 pH meter which was properly- calibrated before each individual reading. We are within the allowable range for pH on all outfalls. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Respectfully Submitted, C. Aubrey Meadows c ES EHS Coordinator CENT DwR Cc: Jan Comer, VP of Human Resources . Unattended sites may be eligible for a waiver of tie rain gauge requirement. 4 See General Permit,Table 3 identifying the especially sensitive receiving water classifications where the more protective bench ark applies. 5 Total Toxic Organics sampling is applicable only for those facilities which perform metal finishing operations, manufacture semi o iductors, manufacture electronic crystals, or manufacture cathode ray tubes. For purposes of this permit the definition of Total Toxic Organics is that d i iition contained in the EPA Effluent Guidelines for the facility subject to the requirement to sample (for metal finishing use the definition as found in 40 CFR 33.11;for semiconductor manufacture use the definition as found in 40 CFR 469.12;for electronic crystal manufacture use the definition as found in 40 CFR 469.22;and for cathode ray tube manufacture use the definition found in 40 CFR 469.31). . The solvent management plan shall include a list of the total toxic organic compounds used and the other elemet s listed in the General Permit. For those facilities electing to employ the TTO monitoring waiver, the discharger shall sign the following certification statement: "Based upon my inquiry of the person or persons directly responsible for managinglcompliance with the permit monitoring requiremTnt for total toxic organics (TTO), I certify that to the best of my knowledge and belief, no dumping of concentrated toxic organics into the stormwater or areas rich are exposed to rainfall or stormwater runoff has occurred since filing the last discharge monitoring report.
