I am reaching out from the Charlotte Frito-Lay facility for a Tier 1 response— Permit number NCG060175.
We had an exceedance for pH of 9.07 on December 18t", putting us at Tier 1 for that parameter. Please see the attached
document regarding reasoning and action plans.

Exceedance:
First exceedance for pH of 9.07 at Outfall 2 on December 18t", 2025.
Reasoning:
Exceedance is believed to be an issue from the pH meter calibration in the field conducted
by ONE Environmental. ONE Environmental conduct our monthly sampling and this is what
they reported to us when we got our analytical results back. They don't believe this issue to
be persistent.
The only other potential reasoning would be an excess of potatoes on the ground outside by
our potato unload area. This area is cleaned on a weekly schedule.
Action Plans:
• Continue doing weekly inspections of flow areas to Outfall 002
• Wastewater Operators continue doing daily checks of all outfalls
• Dig up vegetation and sediment in trenches that lead to Outfall 002
• Ensure that One Environmental has correct calibrations going forward
• Continue One Environmental monthly BMP Maintenance of all outfalls
