TOWN OF RICH SQUARE'S Yd QUARTERLY REPORT
• As required by the SOC, the Town submitted a 180 Day Evaluation Report on September
30, 2025, with the assistance of Richard Davis, Wastewater Training & Technical
Assistance Division of the North Carolina Rural Water Association (attached);
• Work under Town of Rich Square Waste Water Treatment Plant Improvements
Proiect No.: SRP-W-ARP-0276 is proceeding ahead of schedule, is nearly complete and
is approaching closeout;
• Under the Town's Asset Inventory & Assessment (AIA) Award from NCDEQ, work
continues to investigate the Town's Sewer System including collection, pumping and
treatment. As noted by AIA personnel, manholes belonging to the County and damaged
in the course of mowing were identified as major inflow points. Repairs to these
locations have been completed.
A Notice of Violation and Assessment of Civil Penalty, dated October 9, 2025, was sent
to the Town regarding a review of the Discharge Monitoring Report submitted by the
Town in March 2025. The details of the violation which relate to the pulling of samples
of Nitrogen and Phosphorus, and the Town's Response, dated October 22, 2025 are
attached. The Town is confident that the sample situation has been resolved.
• Other samples pulled from the WWTP continue to improve.
