I am pleased to announce that the Mount Airy Mine and Mill, operated by the The North Carolina
Granite Corporation, a subsidiary of Polycor Inc., has been purchased by the Luck Stone
Corporation. We will transfer the existing NPDES water discharge permit, NCG020513, to Luck
Stone effective immediately.
In accordance with our permit, we must notify the department, and the transfer is dependent upon
the approval of the Director. We understand it is the intent of Luck Stone to maintain the existing
permit with all conditions remaining in place.
