Minutes of the meeting are as follows:
1. Bill Freed provided an update on the work completed and the status of the
remaining work.
2. The bar screen equipment is installed and is ready for a start-up date. A
backflow preventer needs to be installed on the wash water service. The
backflow preventer change order has been submitted and is under review.
3. Jeff will check with the county to see if there are any specific requirements for
the new backflow installation.
4. The manual bar screen will be installed next week.
5. The proposed concrete pad may not be required and will be review on site.
6. Aerators #3, 6 and 8 are installed in the lagoon and are in the process of getting
electrical wiring installed. New wire and junction boxes are being installed.
7. The aerators #1 and 2 VFD equipment will be installed in the next week or two.
8. Existing aerators #4, 5 and 7 has wiring issues that will be addressed at the site
visit.
9. The chemical feed pumps will be installed by Tuesday, next week.
10. Reimbursement request #1 has been submitted for approval. Kim will check the
status.

11. The Mayor has talked with Ms. Kern, at DWI, about getting the accounts updated for
the reimbursement payment deposits.
12. A draft change order will be submitted to Kim for approval on the backflow and
existing aerator improvements.
13. Contract-1, with Merrell Bros, is 100% complete.
14. At the WWTP site, it was determined that aerator #4 needs a new junction box at the
bank for the aerator power cord connection. Aerator #5 has a power cord issue at the
motor. Aerator #7 could be replaced with the old aerator #6 and a new motor. Jeff
was going to check to see if there was a spare 3 hp motor at his shop.
15. Bill will submit a change order for the additional work for the aerator improvement
items listed above.
16. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for maintaining a safe work environment
for his crews and the public. The Contractor shall not allow alcohol, illegal drugs, or
other unsafe practices at the work site.
17. The Contractor is totally responsible for the scheduling, directing, and performance
of the project.

Dear Sir or Ma'am,
As of the last report, the Town held a progress meeting on the W WTP Improvements.
Please see the included minutes of the meeting held on April 10, 2025.
The Town is working with Richard Davis, Wastewater Specialist with North Carolina
Rural water Association (NCRWA) to assist us with the wastewater Treatment Plant Evaluation
report and any other assistance that NCRWA will be able to assist us with.
I am working on getting a quote for a metal carport to be permanently installed over the
chemical feed barrels and the chemical feed pumps at the W WTP to help protect against the
weather and to help with the longevity of the equipment. The contractor has installed four new
chemical feed pumps at the W WTP and my crew has been trained on how to use the equipment.
Currently we have six aerators working right now and we are waiting on parts for the other two
aerators. The mechanical bar -screen has been installed at the influent. Waste debris is being
placed into a dumpster and is properly being disposed of. The sludge in the first lagoon has
already been removed by the contractor.
As to the scheduled activities we are hoping that we will be able to have most of them
completed for the next report.
