EC13K'PO Box 1006 Charlotte, NC 28201-1006 14 March 2016 Mr. Sergei Chernikov North Carolina Division of Water Resources 1617 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1617 Subject: Results Submittal for AOW S-10 at Allen Steam Station Dear Mr. Chernikov, A contractor for Duke Energy collected a water quality sample of AOW S-10 at Allen Steam Station on 08 March 2016, and the laboratory report containing the results of the water quality sampling was received on 11 March 2016. Attached to this letter are the results of the water quality sampling. The boron result and proximity of the AOW to cell 1 of the active ash basin suggests that the water is likely influenced by coal combustion residuals. This AOW is part of a french drain system whose pipe empties into the stormwater drainage system of NPDES outfall SW015.
