The site is in a mixed commercial/industrial/residential area. The Charlotte facility is primarily a chemical manufacturing facility. The m principal products manufactured at this facility are chemicals used to make fabrics stronger,softer,shrink-free, = washable,water repellant. Other products at this facility are adhesives,paper products,and sulfated oils. m Numerous raw chemicals are used in the production process and are stored in drums,totes,and in bulk. These raw o materials are stored either inside the facility warehouse or outside in aboveground storage tanks. Raw materials are received at loading docks by tankertruck. The final products are stored in bulk aboveground storage tanks in facility z warehouses and are shipped off-site via tanker truck,drums,or totes. The site location is shown as Figure 1. figure 2 provides a more detailed view of the facility including locations of oil storage equipment and stormwater drainage pathways. The main facility is surrounded by asphalt pavement,grassed areas,and a perimeter fence. As shown on the location map(Figure 1)drainage from the facility flows generally to the southeast.
