The Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR) Stormwater Permitting
Program received your application for an NPDES Individual Stormwater discharge permit on
September 8, 2020. On February 7, 2024, representatives for Valdese Water Recycling, LLC
requested withdrawal of the permit application.
With this letter, your application is being returned to you. Please be advised that if the State
determines that discharges from this site contribute to a water quality standard violation or are a
significant contributor of pollutants to waters of the State, the Department of Environmental
Quality (DEQ) is authorized to require an appropriate discharge permit or eliminate the
discharge.
The return of this application does not affect the legal requirements to obtain other permits,
which may be required by the Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources, or permits
required by the Division of Water Resources (DWR), Coastal Area Management Act, or any
other federal or local government permit or approval that may be required.
