Treatment plant components include influent solids cutter, flow equalization basin and pumps, flow control splitter box, three parallel extended aeration treatment trains, each rated for 90,000 gpd (270,000 gpd total), clarifiers, tablet chlorination and dechlorination, and flow measurement. Chemical feed systems are used to precipitate and remove phosphorus and supplement alkalinity. Plant is designed to meet the existing permit limits of 14 mg/1 BOD5, 2 mg/1 ammonia nitrogen, 30 mg/1 TSS, 566 Lbs./year TP, and 200/100 ml FC count. These limits imply removal rates of 95% for BOD5 and Ammonia-N, 91% for TP, 87% for TSS, and 99% for FC. Flow Eq. capacity is 54,500 gallons. Sludge holding is 18,800 gallons. Aeration is 270,000 gallons (24 hours). 10. (18 U.S.C.Section 1001 provides a punishment by a fine of not more than$25,000 or imprisonment not more than 5 years,or both,for a similar offense.) 3 of 3 Form-D 11/12 RESIDUALS MANAGEMENT PLAN FEARRINGTON WASTEWATER TREATMENT Fearrington Utilities has a contract with Granville Farms for the disposal of the sludge from the Fearrington Wastewater Treatment Plant. The sludge is prepared for land application by elevation of the pH of the sludge with liquid lime, per the 503 rules, before the sludge is removed from the sludge holding tanks. Granville Farms is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the land application permit and providing the disposal site or sites required for the Fearrington sludge disposal.
