Enclosed with this letter are the results of the water quality sampling. The analysis seems to indicate that the water is influenced by the ash basin. The water of this AOW originates and pools at the toe of the eastern dike of the ash basin and eventually either evaporates or percolates into the ground of the ditch at the toe of the eastern dike. The ditch does not provide enough positive drainage to convey the water to an outlet to the lake. In accordance with Duke procedures, this AOW will be monitored weekly for changes. Should you have any questions regarding this submittal or require addition information, please contact Ross Hartfield at 980-373-6583 or at ross.hartfield@duke-energy.com.
