Approval of Requested Changes

Dear Ms. Young:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the Division of Energy,Mineral, and Land Resources
(DEMLR)has reviewed and approved the request received by our office on August 2, 2023 to do the
following: (a)amend specific items in Articles 4, 8, and 12 of the Unified Development Ordinance
(UDO)and(b)change the water supply watershed protection maps. The City—County Planning
Department submitted the request in compliance with the Water Supply Watershed Protection Rules.
DEMLR approved the ordinance text amendment in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143-
214.5 and North Carolina Administrative Code 15A NCAC 2B .0100, .0200 and .0623. Please note that
this approval pertains only to the specific noted changes in Articles 4, 8, and 12 of the UDO. This
approval does not include other items in Articles 4, 8 and 12 of the UDO that may need to be revised
and/or updated.
