Good afternoon, This is in reference to a parameter benchmark exceedance for the Duff-Norton Facility who operates under the Stormwater General Permit NCG030000 and COC NCG030004. Please allow the below to serve as the required notification to the Division's Regional Office as outlined in Table 4 of the permit. On September 15, 2023 we received our Q3 stormwater sampling results. These samples were taken on August 30, 2023 and the results indicated that we had a TPH benchmark exceedance at all outfalls 002, 003, and 004. TPH Benchmark range: 15 mg/L Outfall 002 result: 17 mg/L Outfall 003 result: 18 mg/L Outfall 004 result: 15 mg/L As this is the first sampling event which had a TPH benchmark exceedance at all three outfalls,we will be implementing the required Tier One Response as outlined in section E-5 of Permit No. NCG030000. We conducted the stormwater management inspection 9/15/23 and there were no signs of contamination. Outfalls 003 and 004 come directly off our roof and do not interact with any other sources. The only industrial activity on the roof is the paint booth stacks which show no signs of contamination or runoff. The roof was fully replaced in 2021 and is in good condition. We plan to conduct monthly visual inspections to evaluate visible oil &grease and possible contamination sources from October to December or until we receive the next quarterly monitoring results to evaluate visible oil &grease and possible contamination sources. If you have any questions or require additional information please let me know. We have also entered this data in the eDMR system and indicated a non- compliance as required.
