The Beachwood WWTP is a minor facility (flow < 1 MGD) with a design capacity and permitted wastewater discharge of 0.10. The original NPDES permit for this facility was issued in February 1985. This facility utilizes the following treatment components: • Two 300-gpm influent pumps • 15,000-gallon equalization tank • 125,000-gallon aeration tank • 33,400-gallon clarifier • 22,500-gallon sludge holding tank • Three aeration blowers • Ultraviolet disinfection unit • Post -aeration • Flow recorder RENEWAL SUMMARY This renewal contains the following changes: • Added Neuse nutrient reopener condition for all Neuse River discharge permits to Part L A. (6). • Updated eDMR language for electronic data submission in Part L A. (7). COMPLIANCE HISTORY Beachwood WWTP has had no enforcements since 2017. The facility has been issued six NOVs for BOD, Fecal Coliform, and Ammonia Nitrogen limit violations in 2018 — 2022. The most recent inspection (January 2023) showed the facility to be not in compliance with all rules and regulations; however, the noncompliance did not require enforcement action. Specifically, the sludge blanket level was unacceptable and only two of the three aeration tank blowers were operational during the inspection.
