SW TSS Abatement&Maintenance Quarterly Report(April-June 2023)
Dear Jerry,
In addition to other Best Management Practices (BMPs),Charlotte Pipe continues to maintain the
following BMPs specifically for TSS Abatement:
• Continuous sweeping of outside areas around the facility;
• Operation and collection of dust with 20+baghouses equipped with covered collection boxes;
• Operation of water spray on charging system and in scrap yard;
• Pumping stormwater sumps from charging area and scrap yard to WWTP for treatment;
• Placement of catch pans under hopper bottoms of feldspar delivery truck during raw material
unloading;and
• Maintaining&replacement of drain/sock inserts in specified drains/culverts around the facility.
Please find attached the Filter Insert Maintenance Schedule for CY2023. An'x'represents a filter insert
change;yellow highlight indicates when it is scheduled to be changed again. The most recent analytical
results available is from sampling conducted in June 2023 (January-June 2023). Follow-up sampling will
be conducted during the July-December 2023 timeframe.
