Dear Ms. Riddle:
Pursuant to Exemption from Monitoring During Dormant Status letter from Stanley
Aiken, Regional Engineer, dated October 17, 2022, your office must be notified in writing at
least 30 days prior to commencing any industrial activity on the site.
Please note, Sibelco plans to initiate industrial activity for a temporary timeframe to
obtain ore from the mine to be crushed elsewhere. Commencement shall begin during the week
of August 7th. All aspects of NPDES General Permit NCG020000 shall be implemented
including the required seven-day inspection and all monitoring associated with the permit.
