The site is located off U.S. Hwy 74 Bypass (College Street). The total tract area is 1.64 acres and will consist of 2 commercial buildings with 1.55 acres of disturbance. For stormwater management the site will use a series of pipes and catch basins to control post development runoff. It was determined that the majority of the pre-development runoff flows south towards the NCDOT right-of-way of Hwy 74. In its existing condition the site has been reviewed and consists mostly of open area in fair condition. The majority of soil on site consists of Pacolet sandy clay. The attached soils map from the USDA website shows the different types of soils onsite. Weighted curve numbers and times of concentration have been calculated for each individual basin reflecting their characteristics in the pre-development stage and are shown in the report. During the construction process, sediment and erosion control measures will be taken on-site. Proposed catch basins will be equipped with silt sacks for inlet protection. Silt fence will be placed in all applicable areas on the site. Rip-rap energy dissipaters will be installed at the outlets of pipes to avoid scour. Construction entrances will be installed in the appropriate location to prevent sediment tracking from construction vehicles. Post development, weighted curve numbers and times of concentration have been calculated for each individual basin. A curve number of 98 was used for all impervious areas including the ponds, buildings, and pavement areas. Post-development runoff will be directed toward proposed catch basins which are then routed to the proposed ponds. Water quality for the site has been calculated using a 1.0" of rainfall over the entire built upon area. A sand filter will be used as the primary SMC to treat the water quality volume. Details of the proposed sand filter can be found in the plans provided. The weir in the drop structure will be set at an elevation above the required water quality storage volume. The weir will only discharge after the first 1.0" of water has been stored. Listed below is a summary of the results of the stormwater calculations. Soils are assigned to one of four groups according to the rate of water infiltration when the soils are not protected by vegetation, are thoroughly wet, and receive precipitation from long-duration storms. The soils in the United States are assigned to four groups (A, B, C, and D) and three dual classes (A/D, B/D, and C/D). The groups are defined as follows: Group A.
