Analytical and qualitative monitoring has not been conducted since 2020. The facility had an abundance of cut wood particles like mulch, bark, and wood chips especially at the composting area. There was a sediment basin with baffles, but it was full of sediment. And the flow to the front of the facility appears to be sheet flow. Attention should be given to good housekeeping and outlet maintenance. An updated Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and qualitative and analytical monitoring reports must be submitted to the Winton -Salem Regional office by July 7, 2023 or enforcement action may be taken. If you have questions, contact me at Lily.Kay@ncdenr.gov or by phone at (336) 776-9655.
