Specifically, the following general permits will be renewed this year: NCG05-Apparel, Printing, Leather, Rubber-brittany.cook@ncdenr.gov NCG07 - Stone, Clay, Glass - brittany.cook@ncdenr.gov NCG11-Treatment Works - isaiah.reed@ncdenr.gov NCG13 - Non-metal Waste and Scrap - bittany.cook@ncdenr.gov NCG21-Timber Products - paul.clark@ncdenr.gov NCDEQ plans to notice these permits in the NC Public Register and newspapers around April 17, 2023. This provides your entities the opportunity to comment even before the public notice period begins. For questions on a specific permit, please contact the person listed adjacent to that permit type. R4NPDESPermits@epa.gov is a shared mailbox for states to submit NPDES permit packages to EPA Region 4 and should only be used for that purpose. We may provide written comments and recommendations or objections to a draft or proposed final permit. If we do not respond within the timeframes below, as per the current State/EPA Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) (Section IV), then the State may issue the final permit. However, if other parties raised significant concerns objecting to the draft or if the final permit is significantly different than the draft the State needs to send a proposed permit to us for review. Timeframes for EPA review: • Draft Individual Permit: the EPA has 30 calendar days to review it and may request 90 days for review • Draft General Permit: the EPA has 90 calendar days to review it • Proposed Permit: the EPA has 15 business days to review it and may request 90 calendar days to review it If you have any questions about this please don't hesitate to contact me.
