(SUMMIT) has performed infiltration testing for the Estates at Marvin Branch located east of 9614 Joe Kerr Road in Marvin, North Carolina. A more detailed description of the site location and our test results can be found on the attached figures. The following paragraphs provide a brief summary of our observations and test results. Observations and Testing SUMMIT visited the project site and performed one (1) double -ring infiltrometer test at the existing drainage basin. Upon arriving to the site, it was observed that the drainage basin was graded and seeded with grass, adjacent to a newly built roadway. The test was performed at approximately 4 feet below the ground surface. No elevation data was provided to SUMMIT prior to the infiltration test. After preparing the ground and positioning the double -ring apparatus, water was added to a sufficient level to allow for a clear view and water level measurements. SUMMIT recorded the initial water level and then recorded water level measurement every 30 minutes for the following 240 minutes (4 hours) until the rate of infiltration stabilized. Report ofDouble Ring Infiltrometer Testing October 31, 2022 Brighton Park DRI BMP #1 SUMMIT Project No. 8976. G0003 Infiltrometer Testing Results The subgrade soils exposed within the drainage field consisted of a light brown slightly clayey sandy silt. After the second hour of testing, the infiltration rate for the testing location began to stabilize, which may indicate saturation of the subgrade soils. The measured infiltration rates then remained constant throughout the remaining duration of the test. The double -ring infiltrometer test was performed in general accordance with ASTM D 3385. Results of the double -ring infiltrometer test for the drainage field indicates an average infiltration rate of 0.31 inches per hour and a stabilized infiltration rate of 0.22 inches per hour. Please see Figure 2 for a graphical presentation of our test results. SUMMIT appreciates the opportunity to provide our professional services to you on this project.
