To add an additional discharge to our WWTP from a PFAS treatment system, what would you all need from us? This is considered a Major Modification because you are adding a new waste stream to an existing permit. You need to submit a request for Major Modification with a fee of $1,030.00 payable to NCDEQ. 1b. Would an advance notification suffice? Or would we need to submit sections F.13-F.15 of "NPDES FORM 2A Additional Information" to you with those details? You need to submit F.13-F.15 of "NPDES FORM 2A Additional Information" with the request for a Major Modification. We also would need the list of expected PFAS compounds in this discharge along with the concentration of each compound. 2. Assuming all treatment and permitting criteria are being met, would a trailer mounted treatment system, capable of discharging to multiple points to the sanitary sewer be permitted just like a stationary system? Yes, you can choose any treatment system. 3. Assuming we get EPA PFAS MCL values, would this treatment system need to meet those requirements once numbers are approved? At this point I cannot give you a from answer because we don't have State Standards for any PFAS compounds. Therefore, we are implementing BPJ BAT standards on the case by case basis. We would need to discuss this issue internally after we receive your application. Thank you! We are exploring options for treating and discharging PFAS impacted wastewater and had some questions regarding requirement A.(8.) in the Camp Lejeune Advanced WWTP Permit (No. NC0063029, attached). If there is another POC we should reach out to for these questions, just let us know. la. To add an additional discharge to our WWTP from a PFAS treatment system, what would you all need from us? 1b.
