If contiguous lots are graded such that one acre or more is disturbed, individual lot controls will be insufficient, and surface dewatering is required in order to maintain compliance with the NPDES general construction permit. This site is limited to individual lot disturbance. If contiguous lot grading for lots totaling 1 acre or more is to take place, an approved plan is required before grading takes place, with specific locations for surface dewatering, specifications and calculations for surface dewatering. 2. The site, or portions of the site as applicable, are required to be stabilized after any period of inactivity. Slopes steeper than 3:1, perimeter dikes, swales, and ditches must be stabilized within 7 days. All other areas must be stabilized within 14 days. 3. Silt fence may not be placed such that portions of the lot are exposed to erosion. 4. All access to the lots must be through the construction entrances. Construction entrances must be in place prior to lot disturbance. 5. All inlets collecting drainage or that might potentially be affected by the lot construction shall have inlet protection. Inlet protection must be maintained until all areas draining to the inlet are fully stabilized. 6. Any sediment or dirt tracked into the roads by contractor activity shall be cleaned up immediately. 7. All measures, including stone drive, will be maintained after rain and at least weekly for adequacy and needed maintenance. Maintenance will be performed immediately. 8. All disturbed areas not built upon will be provided with permanent groundcover. 9. Any off -site borrow and waste required for this project must come from a site with an approved erosion control plan, a site regulated under the Mining Act of 1971, or a landfill regulated by the Division of Solid Waste Management. Additional measures may be required - The applicant is responsible for the control of sediment on -site. If the approved erosion and sedimentation control measures prove insufficient, the applicant must take those additional steps necessary to stop sediment from leaving this site. [15A NCAC 4B .0115] 11. The NCGO1 has a $100 yearly fee and our office often receives closure inspection requests days prior to yearly NCGOI fee payment due dates. Be advised the project requires a closure inspection report by DEMLR prior to filing the Notice of Termination (NOT) to terminate NCGO1 coverage. The closure inspection should not be requested until after the site has achieved full vegetative stabilization and measures have been removed. The removal of temporary ESC measures, including basins, requires prior approval. Often, a full growing season is necessary between initial seeding/mulching and removal of measures. Please plan your construction accordingly to avoid contacting our office prematurely for a closure inspection. Also be advised you may be asked for representative site pictures prior to a closure inspection.
