That is correct, below is the special condition that outlines the requirements. The sampling plan will be negotiated
between the ESS and Duke, the sampling locations will be defined in the plan.

A.(10) FISH TISSUE SAMPLING NEAR ASH POND DISCHARGE
The facility shall conduct fish tissue monitoring once during the permit term and submit the results with the
NPDES permit renewal application. The objective of the monitoring is to evaluate potential uptake of pollutants by
fish tissue rft-ar the Ash Pond discharge. The parameters analyzed in fish tissue shall be arsenic, selenium, thallium;
and mercuryThe monitoring shall be conducted in accordance with the Sampling Plan approved by the Division.

Hi Sergei,
I know that the renewal NPDES permit for Mayo Steam Plant (that stormwater is coming out of) should be getting a
requirement for fish tissue sampling for Hg and Se. Is that the case? Could I find out from you where those sampling
points will be? Are they in Bowes Branch?
We are working on the CCR Monofill stormwater permit, and I'm trying to get a handle on all the surface water/fish
tissue monitoring that will be happening in the vicinity.
