CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE \
1. Obtain all necessary permits and plan approvals. Erosion and Sediment Control
(E&SC) permit and a Certificate of Coverage (COC) must be obtained before any land disturbing activities
occur. A copy of the E&SC permit, the COC and a hard copy of the plan must be kept on site, preferably in a
permits box, and accessible during inspection.
2. Install gravel constriction entrances fast, then silt fences, reinforced silt fence outlets and wattles.
3. Finish clearing and grubbing any necessary areas on the lots as they are started.
4. Begin lot grading and excavation activities
5. Begin or continue with house construction activities.
6. Finish all rough grading and house construction.
7. Install driveways, walks and patios.
8. Begin fine grading of lot areas
9. Final grassing, mulching and stabilizing of lot. In most cases this will involve the installation of sod on the lot.
The silt fence will remain in place until the lot is sodded or grassing is stabilized and takes hold.
10. The contractor shall conduct self -inspections of the erosion and sedimentation control measures and complete
the following combined self -inspection form found on the DEMLR website
littps://files.ne.gov lnedeq/Rncrgy%2O Mineral%20and%201,and%2ORcsources/Stonliwater/N P D RS%20
Gencral%20Peniiits/DEMLR-CSW-Monitoring-Fornls-Rev-August-8-2019.pdf. Twelve months of complete
inspection forms shall be kept on site and available for inspection at all times. It is recommended a copy be
kept in a permits box. (GS 113A-54.1 (e), 15A NCAC 04B.0131, NCGO1 Part III Sections A and B)
11. Self -inspections for erosion and sedimentation control measures are to be performed at least once every seven
calendar days and within 24 hours of every rain event of greater than 1 inch. Any needed repairs shall be
made immediately to maintain measures as designed. All ESC measures shall be maintained as specified in
a
the construction details on this plan. A rain au c shall be installed at the project site for monitoring'
onttoiin .
p g g p J :,
12. Inspection and final acceptance letters. When the project is complete, the permittees shall contact DEMLR to
close out the E&SC Plan. After DEMLR informs the permittee of the project close out, via inspection report,
the penmittee shall visit "deq.nc.gov/NCG0t" to submit an electronic Notice of termination (e-NOT). A $100
amoral general permit fee will be charged until the c-NOT has been filled out.
A "SELF -INSPECTION REPORT FOR LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY AS REQUIRED BY
NCGS 113A-54.1"IS AVAILABLE FOR USE. IT CAN BE COMPLETED BY HAND OR
COMPLETED AS AN EXCEL SPREADSHEET.
AN ALTERNATIVE IS TO MAKE NOTATIONS ON THE COPY OF THE APPROVED

CONTROL PLAN."
MAINTENANCE OF EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL MEASURES FOR LOT CONSTRUCTION
Gravel Construction Entrance - The gravel pad should remain in a condition to prevent mud or sediment from leaving the construction site. 7
This may require periodic topdressing with 2-inch stone. After each rainfall, inspect any structure used to trap sediment and clean it out as necessary.
Immediately remove all objectionable materials spilled, washed, or tracked onto public roadways.
Silt Fence - Sediment fences should be inspected at least once a week and after each rainfall event. Any repairs should be made immediately.
Damaged or decomposed fabric should be replaced promptly. Any sediment deposits that build up against the fence should be removed and disposed
of properly to insure that the removed sediment does not wash back against the fence. Adequate storage volume should be provided for behind the fence
at tall times. Take care to not undermine the fence during cleanout operations.
Sodding - The sod should be properly maintained to insure that the grass take holds in the areas being secured. The sod should be watered as necessary
to maintain adequate moisture in the root zone and prevent dormancy of the sod. The sod should not be mowed to close, since this could inhibit adequate
growth and stabilization of the root bed. The sod should be limed and fertilized as per soil type recommendations and type of grass recommendations when /
and if possible.
Grassing and Mulching -The area to receive grassing and mulching should be properly fertilized and limed as necessary as an initial step in soil preparation.
Once the grassing has been placed, the area should be maintained as needed to insure that all areas are germinating properly. Any bare areas should be repaired,
and reseeded as soon as possible. If the time of year does not permit the establishment of a permanent grass, then a temporary grassing should be used until the
growing season permits the use of a permanent grass.
Diversion Berms - Diversion berms shall be inspected weekly or after each runoff producing rainfall to insure that they are operating as designed and that there
have been no breaches in the berm. Berms shall not exceed 18" in height, and shall be placed in locations that will not interfere with home construction activities.
Once the house comtmction is completed and the lot is ready to receive sod, then the berm shall be removed and the material incorporated into the graded lot area
and covered immediately with sod. All proper care shall be taken to insure that the berms are installed according to the applicable detail with the berm material
compacted sufficiently to insure that the berm remains in place during the course of the construction activities.
General - All measures will be inspected and corrections made after runoff producing rainfalls, or at least once per week minimum. The builder will insure that the
construction activities on any particular lot do not adversely affect any of the installed erosion control measures. If lot construction dictates, measures will be relocated
on the lot to insure that the potential for sedimentation runoff is eliminated as much as possible. Silt fences and gravel construction entrances will be maintained as suggested
in the erosion control manual. Sodding, seeding and mulching will be maintained to insure proper ground stabilizing cover.

Notes:
1. If needed, Tree Protection fencing should be installed along the buffer zone, wetland
boundary and/or around protected trees, providing a radius of at least 1.25 feet for each
inch of trunk diameter.
2. Install Silt Fence on the low elevation sides of each lot. Install Silt Fence outlets shown on
schematic/diagram and field adjusted, if necessary, for placement at low points. If lots are
contiguous and have different land owners or builders, each lot should have individual Silt
Fences.
3. Install required Silt Fence within 10 feet of property line to ensure there is no conflict with
septic system. It is the responsibility of the builder to ensure the installation of sediment
control measures does not impact the septic system and repair area(s).
4. At least one Construction Entrance/Exit is to be installed per lot.
5. Waste bins and other areas dedicated for managing building material waste shall be at
least 50 feet away from storm drain inlets or drainage ditches unless it can be shown that
no other alternative exists. If this separation cannot be achieved, these areas must be
contained behind Silt Fence.
6. Inlets downstream of disturbances should be protected; streets should be swept when
sediment from the construction activity is present.
7. Details for Silt Fence, Silt Fence Outlets, Construction Entrances and other measures are
provided on additional sheets. Erosion and sediment control details are not drawn to
scale. TYPICAL LOT LAYOUT WITH ROADSIDE DITCHES
