GENERAL CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A COMPLETE SET OF APPROVED DRAWINGS OF THE WORK SITE AT ALL TIMES THAT THE CONTRACTOR IS PERFORMING WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT ALL NECESSARY PERMITS FOR CONSTRUCTION HAVE BEEN OBTAINED PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. WITHIN ALL NOTES PROVIDED IN THE PLANS, THE TERM 'CONTRACTOR' SHALL MEAN THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ANY SUBCONTRACTOR, VENDOR, OR SUPPLIER PERFORMING CONSTRUCTION ON THE SITE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY EXISTING FIELD CONDITIONS AND REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES OR CONFLICTS TO THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY DISCREPANCIES ON THE DRAWINGS OR IN THE FIELD, EITHER PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK OR DURING CONSTRUCTION IN THE FIELD. THE CONTRACTOR IS DIRECTED TO CONTACT THE UTILITY LOCATION SERVICE AT LEAST 72 HOURS PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCATING AND VERIFYING ALL UNDERGROUND AND OVERHEAD UTILITIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THEM DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE WITHIN THE PROJECT SITE OR ALONG ADJOINING PROPERTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PAVEMENT, CURB, UTILITIES, SIDEWALK, LANDSCAPING, DRAINAGE PIPES, ETC. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR AND/OR REPLACE AS REQUIRED ALL DAMAGED ITEMS IMMEDIATELY, IF NECESSARY, OR PRIOR TO THE END OF THE PROJECT AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. REPAIRS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL REGULATION REQUIREMENTS AND SHALL BRING THE DAMAGED ITEM TO A CONDITION SUBSTANTIALLY EQUAL TO ITS PRIOR STATE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO MAKING FIELD ADJUSTMENTS IN THE EVENT OF CONFLICTS WITH WATER, SEWER, DRAINAGE, OR UTILITY LINES, EXISTING OR PROPOSED. RECEIVING STREAMS: RECEIVING STREAM FOR THIS PROJECT IS AN UNNAMED TRIBUTARY OF SWIFT CREEK (27-97-(0.5)). 6. POST -CONSTRUCTION STORMWATER MANAGEMENT: LOTS WILL GENERALLY DRAIN TOWARDS ROADWAY CURB AND GUTTER SECTIONS OR SHEET FLOW TO PROPERTY REARS AND LOW-LYING AREAS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL SILT FENCING AND OTHER EROSION CONTROL DEVICES TO CONTROL SOIL EROS PRIOR TO BULK CLEARING OPERATIONS. ANY DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE GRADED, TEMPORARILY SEEDED, AND STABILIZED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE GRADING AR WHERE CLEARING AND GRUBBING IS COMPLETE. FAILURE OF THE CONTRACTOR TO PROPERLY INSTALL AND MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL RESULT IN THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES BEING HALTED UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE MEASURES ARE CONSTRUCTED AS APPROVED. ALL OPEN BURN PERMITS SHALL BE APPLIED FOR AND OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY BURNING OPERATIONS. NO OPEN BURNING OF CLEARED DEBRIS SHALL OCCUR WITHIN 500 FEET OF AN OCCUPIED RESIDENCE. PROVIDE A GROUND COVER (TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT) ON EXPOSED SLOPES WITHIN 14 CALENDAR DAYS (7 DAYS FOR SLOPE STEEPER THAN 3:1) FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF ANY PHASE OF GRADING; AND, A PERMANENT GROUND COVER FOR ALL DI STUFF AREAS WITHIN 15 WORKING DAYS OR 90 CALENDAR DAYS (WHICHEVER IS SHORTER) FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTIC DEVELOPMENT. NO PERMANENT AND/OR TEMPORARY STRUCTURAL HAUL ROADS ARE PLANNED FOR THE CLEARING & GRUBBING ACTIVITY. CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE SCHEDULE AND HOLD PRECONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE. INSTALL PERMIT SIGNING, JOB BOX WITH APPROVED PLANS, AND RAIN GAUGE AT THE PROJECT ENTRANCE. INITIALLY PERFORM ONLY THAT CLEARING NECESSARY TO INSTALL PERIMETER EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AS SHOWN ON THc PLANS, WHICH INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE AND SILT FENCING, PRIOR TO ANY BULK CLEARING AND GRUBBING OPERATIONS. INSTALL TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE AT REQ'D LOCATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR AND ALL SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL ACCESS THE SITE VIA CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES AS SHOWN ON THE PLAN AND INSTALLED AS PER THE TEMPORARY GRAVEL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE DETAIL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE NECESSARY ACTION TO ENSURE THAT THE TRACKING OF MUD AND DEBRIS ONTO ADJACENT PAVED ROADWAYS IS MINIMIZED, AND SHALL DAILY REMOVE ALL MUD AND SEDIMENTS FROM OFFSITE PAVEMENTS. BEGIN SITE LOGGING, CLEARING, GRUBBING, AND STRIPPING ORIGINALLY ONLY AT THE AREAS NECESSARY FLAGGED AS NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE TEMPORARY SEDIMENT BASINS, IF REQ'D. INSTALL SKIMMER SEDIMENT BASIN WITH BAFFLE, SKIMMER, AND OVERFLOW SPILLWAY WEIR AS SIZED AND PROVIDED IN THE DETAILS. COMPLETE SITE CLEARING UPSTREAM OF THE TEMPORARY SEDIMENT BASINS AND INSTALL TEMPORARY DIVERSION DITCHES WITH WATTLES AND TEMPORARY SEEDING AS SOON AS THESE AREAS ARE CLEARED. THE WORK AREA SHALL BE GRADED, SHAPED, AND OTHERWISE DRAINED IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO MINIMIZE SOIL EROSION, SILTATION, OF DRAINAGE CHANNELS, DAMAGE TO EXISTING VEGETATION, AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF THE WORK AREA. MAINTAIN ALL STORMWATER DRAINAGE INTO THE SKIMMER SEDIMENT BASINS DAILY. FINISH ALL SLOPES AS SOON AS ROUGH GRADING IS COMPLETE. LEAVE THE SURFACE SLIGHTLY ROUGHENED AND VEGETATE AND MULCH IMMEDIATELY AFTER PHASE CLEARING & GRUBBING IS COMPLETE. AFTER SITE IS STABILIZED, REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY MEASURES. ANY FILL MATERIAL NECESSARY TO COMPLETE PROJECT GRADING WHICH IS NOTABLE TO BE GENERATED FROM THE SITE SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM AN APPROPRIATELY PERMITTED BORROW FACILITY. ANY EXCESS MATERIAL HAULED OFF -SITE WHICH IS UNABLE TO BE USED IN SITE GRADING SHALL BE EXPORTED TO AN APPROPRIATELY PERMITTED BORROW FACILITY. MAINTENANCE SEQUENCE 1. THE FIELD CONTACT FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S SUPERINTENDENT. 2. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PRACTICES WILL BE CHECKED FOR STABILITY AND OPERATION FOLLOWING EVERY RUNOFF PRODUCING RAINFALL EVENT, BUT IN NO CASE LESS THAN ONCE EVERY WEEK. ANY NEEDED REPAIRS WILL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY TO MAINTAIN ALL PRACTICES AS DESIGNED. 3. SEDIMENT WILL BE REMOVED FROM BEHIND THE SEDIMENT FENCE WHEN IT BECOMES ABOUT 61NCHES DEEP AT THE FENCE. THE SEDIMENT FENCE WILL BE REPAIRED AS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A BARRIER. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN INSPECTION AND MONITORING RECORDS BY COMPLETING NC DEMLR SELF -INSPECTION MONITORING FORMS WEEKLY AND/OR AFTER RAIN EVENTS. 5. REFER TO INDIVIDUAL EROSION CONTROL DEVICE DETAILS FOR SPECIFIC DEVICE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. 6.
