Dear Ms. Lewis:
Enclosed are two copies of the revised plans and calculations. The
following responses are to your letter dated August 26, 1996:
1.) The required surface area calculations on Page 1 have been revised
to reflect a 4-foot permanent pool depth. This adjusted depth
requires a surface area of 3879 SF, with 4205 SF provided.
2.) Both the surface areas of the permanent pool and storage pool have
been included in the calculations on Page 1.
3.) The provided storage and the required storage have been calculated
on Page 1 of the calculations.
We appreciate your attention in this matter. Should you have any
comments or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to

Stormwater Project No. SW8 960611
MGK Inc. Storage Buildings
Brunswick County
The Wilmington Regional Office received previously requested information for the Stormwater
Management Permit Application for MGK Inc. Storage Buildings on August 6, 1996. A preliminary
review of that information has determined that the application is not complete. The following information
is needed to continue the stormwater review:
1. The pond's surface area, 36' x 117' is not enough to satisfy the required 4,502 square feet.
please revise the plans to indicate enough surface area.
2. The calculations do not report the surface areas of the permanent pool or the design
Pool.
3. The calculations do not provide a check of the volume provided in the pond vs. the required
volume to be stored.

Dear Ms. Lewis:
Enclosed are two copies of the revised Sheet 2 of 2. This sheet has been
revised in accordance with my understanding of a conversation been yourself
and Mr. Scott Quaintance on July 31, 1996. During this conversation, it was
requested that a level spreader be located at the end of the proposed asphalt
loading area on the temporary grading plan in order to apply the low density
option. The level spreader has been proposed and a detail has been provided as
requested.
We appreciate your attention

Enclosed are two copies each of the revised plans and calculations. The
following are given in response to your comments dated June 28, 1996.
1. The permanent pool dimensions have been added to the plans.
2. The calculations have been sealed.
3. A temporary grading plan has been added to the plans for the Phase 1
development under low density requirements. No curbing is planned
to be used on this project.
4. The forebay has been revised so that it is shallower than the main
body of the pond.
5. Flow entering the pond will be directed there by sheet flow as shown
by the proposed grades, entering the pond at the forebay area.
6. Elevations of the vegetated shelf and 3:1 pond side slopes have been
added to the pond cross-section detail.
We appreciate your attention in this matter. Should you or Mr. Greg

Dear Mr. Houston:
The Wilmington Regional Office received a Stormwater Management Permit Application for MGK,
Inc., Storage Buildings on June 10, 1996. A preliminary review of that information has determined that
the application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review:
1. Add the permanent pool dimensions to the plan. 3&411-1
v'2. Seal the calculations.
2 2C(3. Indicate the temporary grading of the site. Non -erosive sheet flow through a large expanse
d Q' of grassed area will be required in order to permit this site as low density. How much of
A Q the curbing will be installed? If runoff collects along the curbing, then a 100' grassed swale
will be required prior to discharge from the site. rvcvrbi/l4
✓4. The forebay area must be shallower than the main pond. The reasoning for this is to
encourage early settling of solids in an easily accessible and maintainable area.
5. Show the future piping/inlets into the pond. SA eel -F/cyu 1'17 6 1'reb2y.
6. One of the permit conditions will be that the remaining land cannot be sold until after the
pond is constructed. .
7. Add the elevations of the vegetated shelf and the required 3:1 pond side slopes to the pond
cross-section details.

Submittal of Stormwater Plan for Approval
Dear Ms. Lewis:
117 Pine Street
96s n ' nnr P!st Office Box 2927
Friday, June7, 1996
On behalf of Mark Kennedy, owner of MGK Inc., we are pleased to submit
for your review and approval two copies each of the Stormwater Plans, the
hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and the executed Permit Application
forms.
The proposed subject project falls within the high density guidelines
upon construction of more than 0.41 acres of impervious area, which is
approximately two storage buildings. Mr. Mark Kennedy plans to phase the
construction of the storage buildings; therefore, the wet detention pond will
not be required to be constructed until the 0.41 acres has been exceeded.
Enclosed is a check from Mark Kennedy in the amount of $385.00 to cover the
required high density application fee.
We appreciate your attention in this matter. Should you or Mr. Greg
Stutts have any comments or require any additional information, please do not
hesitate to contact our office at your convenience.
