Dear Mr. Khan:
In accordance with the requirements of the Industrial Stormwater Permit NCS000546, please accept this
letter as written notification that Allen Steam Station is in Tier III status at outfall SW018 for copper.
Storm water samples for SW018 that exceeded copper benchmarks were collected on January 15, 2016,
September 1, 2016, October 10, 2018 and March 3, 2020 (results received on March 24, 2020). This outfall
is already in Tier III status for TSS. Duke Energy has a contract with a consultant to assist with resolutions.
