Sorry for the delay getting back to you, we've had a large project I've been involved with that just wrapped up today.

My name is Aana Gamble and I'm the new NCDEQ contact for Individual NPDES Industrial Stormwater Permits. I was
just checking back through some files, and the AirGas/National Welders Charlotte Plant permit (NCS000045) caught my
eye as a permit that could potentially be rescinded. About a year ago, your facility applied for rescission of the
stormwater permit because AirGas stopped producing acetylene and the SIC code switched to 5169, which is not a
monitored category. However, the rescission request was denied due to "erosion issues and concrete waste to be
cleaned up."
I wanted to ask whether you had completed that work and if you wanted to reapply for rescission of the permit? If so,
please fill out the form attached to this email and send it to the address at the bottom of the form. You can also scan it
and email it back to me as well, to make things a little faster. After we receive the form, an inspector from the
Mooresville Regional Office will come out to verify that the site is suitable for rescission of the permit, and we can
proceed with the rescission.
If you do not wish to rescind the permit, please let me know. It is expired and a renewal application will be necessary.
