Elemen tar. y School. 336.6614999 rax 336.6614971 Dear Mr. Patterson: As we previousa.y discussed over the telephone and by ema-il., l am working on an effort; to install vegetation more adapted to our region and more sustainable to the application in our bio--teal.. We' ve had significant difficulty getting turf grass to grow well in the bio-cell, and 1 have sought the help of our local cooperative extension office for a practical solution for a better stand of vegetation. Please see the a.t:tached plan revision change. vie items of interest are encircled in `bubble' denotation. Our hope is to be allowed to install a variety of perennial grasses from the list of herbaceous plants .Listed in the State BMP Manual and as per recommendation of our local cooperative extension. For the Rural. Hall. setting, the local cooperative extension has suggested muhly grass, river oats, soft rush (or leathery rush) and/or white sedge. Purple .lovegrass is another species we world like to include, as this was recommended by the Mellow Marsh Farm nursery in Siler City, NC. We would like to plant; a combination of these grasses, as well as add some daylilies in the corners for aesthetics. Depending on what grasses do well in this application; we would also like the ability to choose between the herbaceous plants recommended for bio-cell application in the future if certain species don' t fare well and are in need of replacement.
