NPDES Stormwater Discharge Monitoring Report for:
Marshall Steam Station - NCS000548 — Catawba County
Year 5 - Tier li Monthly Sampling Results
Dear Sir or Madam:
In accordance with Part III, E(2) of the above referenced NPDES Stormwater permit, the original
and one copy of the Stormwater Discharge Outfall (SDO) monitoring reports containing results of
the Tier II monthly sampling is attached.
Representative samples were not collected during from SWO07 or SWO08 during December 2019
because of no -flow conditions at the facility, including stormwater events not initiating during
daylight hours or stormwater events that did initiate on weekend days or inside 72-hour period
since the last stormwater event.
Samples were collected from SWO07 and SWO08 on January 7, 2020, and the corresponding
stormwater DMR for this monitoring event is attached. No exceedances of permit benchmarks
were exceeded during the January 2020 monitoring event. Currently SWO07 remains in Tier 2
status for two prior consecutive values for copper outside the permit benchmark range.
Additionally, SWO08 remains in Tier 3 status for four intermittent TSS values reported outside the
benchmark range within the permit cycle.
Please direct any correspondence or questions concerning the Marshall Steam Station NPDES
Stormwater Program to Robert Wylie at (704) 382-4669.
