Subject: Harris Teeter Distribution Facility NCG060372
Based on our site visit and follow up discussions with plant staff this week, Harris Teeter wants to sample at locations
identified as A, B & C on the attached site diagram. These locations are much easier to access and sample, and are much
more representative of the industrial activity being permitted. I told them based on my discussions with Ken Pickle that
they can start with locations 1, 2 & 3, but they still want to start with A,B &C. Location A is one of the sample locations
for the existing Indian Trail TSS monitoring program associated with a recent plant expansion. Sample locations 2 and 3
are insignificant as the drainage area is quite small in relation to the 100 acre site . The existing stormwater treatment,
system is excellent, using a combination of grassy swales, dry detention and wet detention. Housekeeping is also very
good. The only compliance issue we found was a new 2000 gallon DEP(urea) tank near the fuel dispensing area without

secondary containment. They are going to sample locations A, 6 & C during the next rain event and submit the data to
me for technical assistance.
