Duke Energy staff undertook a significant process control and testing effort to try to identify and address causes and mitigating activities associated with the sample result received from the September 25, 2019 sample. The attached spreadsheet starts with the 3rd quarter event on September 25, 2019 and summarizes results of all investigative follow-up monitoring at and near the S-1 location to assess treatment options, areas of influence, etc. in order to evaluate the increased hardness level. The spreadsheet includes numerous data points on or around October 25, 2019 and November 20, 2019 when significant process control testing was being performed using resin socks as a potential hardness remedial option. The spreadsheet ends with the sampling event on December 5, 2019 with hardness below the IAL of 200 mg/L. Since the December sampling, S-1 has remained below the hardness IAL through the results of the ls` quarter 2020 sampling event.
