The wastewater consists solely of surface runoff and rainwater collected in the quarry pits. However, this mining facility is not in operation. Currently, the applicant requests that the subject discharge be covered under an NPDES General Permit. An onsite investigation performed by staff of the Mooresville Regional Office revealed that the facility meets the General Permit requirement. Therefore, it is recommended that a General Permit be issued to the applicant as requested.
