New construction equipment sales and maintenance activities are performed on the property. File Review/History: Charlotte -Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) has not previously inspected ACT Construction Equipment. Advanced Disposal Services was previously located on the property and was covered under NPDES Stormwater Permit NCG080945. Inspection Summary: ACT Construction Equipment was observed to be in compliance with the City of Charlotte Storm Water Pollution Control Ordinance. Please refer to the report for comments and recommendations from the inspection. The AST and storage containers appeared to be in good condition; no stormwater pollution issues were observed. The wash bay drains into an oil/water separator, which discharges into the the Charlotte Water sanitary sewer system. Facility staff indicated that the oil/water separator is cleaned biannually by Safety-Kleen. Waste storage/disposal area - Recommendation There is one municipal waste dumpster and one scrap metal dumpsters, scrap metal bins, etc. dumpster located on the property. Both dumpsters appeared to be in good condition; however, the scrap metal dumpster was uncovered. It is recommended that the scrap metal dumpster be covered to prevent exposure to stormwater. Food service area(s) N/A Indoor material storage area(s) No Parts and equipment are stored indoors in the maintenance shop building. New and used motor oil and hydraulic oil are also stored indoors. Indoor processing area(s) No Facility staff indicated that all equipment maintenance activities are performed inside the maintenance shop building.
