I Randy Hoffer certify to the best of my knowledge that the addition of
the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the
receiving wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to cause any
capacity related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station en route to the
receiving treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned
improvements identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed
in accordance with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This
certification applies to those items listed above in Sections I and II plus all attached planning assessment
addendums for which I am the responsible party. Signature of this form certifies that the receiving

Dean,
I reviewed the pump system model and also talked to Randy Hoffer. To downsize the pumps for a 4" force main out to
the road would still require the same pump, just slightly less horsepower.
Therefore, I think it is best to leave the design as it is. Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks.

Hey Tim,
You only need to meet scour in the FM leaving your project to the point of connection with a larger
main, thus sounds like this is being way over designed.
For example, if your project only needs a 4" out to the road to meet its needs and you upsize to a 6" on
the main roads for the utility, then scour only applies to the 4" at the point of connection to the
6". Since it's the only user of the 6" initially, then you just need to point out there will be inadequate
scour in the 6" upon completion. It is up to the system owner/utility to manage flows in that larger line
to avoid issues of deposition & septicity via flushing ports at key locations especially upstream of large
bores until adequate future connections & flow are added.
Let me know if you would like to look at redesigning the on -site system.

The goal of the Fast Track sewer permit program is to issue a permit in no more than 30 business days from receipt of a
complete application and if no additional information has to be requested upon full review. Please use the Department's
Permit Application Tracker to determine the official application receipt date to allow you to estimate a date for issuance and
find the reviewer's name. Once issued, the record stays on the site for 30 days.
For previously issued sewer permit info or to check on sewer certification receipt status, please use the Division's Sewer
Extension Permit Tracker. Using the Issue Date on top of the Engineer Certification Form is best way to ensure getting what
you want especially for multi -version permits; using today's date only gives info on the latest permit version. Confirmation
using this method will replace letters and emails; it is recommended that confirmation be printed and/or saved.

Randy/Dean,
The Pump Station was not set up to be a Regional Station. It will serve the school only. However, we did
upsize the Force Main (as requested by Pluris), so other possible future developments along Folkstone
Road or Tar Landing Road could tie to it. Due to upsizing the Force Main, we increased the GPM of the
Pumps, so we would get 2 feet per second velocity in the Force main.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks, Tim

So do you want me to condition the permit that it has to be upgraded by you with the
next tributary flow permit or do you want OCS to pay for it now? Needs to be
considered in the design and installation now though.
The station is sited quite deep in the parcel close to the school best I can tell from the
limited drawing I got; thus seems limited in its ability to be regional.
Let me know and perhaps ask Tim Stewart.

There was talk of Jack Carlisle using this station for 50 acres that is next to the pump
station but I'm not aware of any deal.

Randy,
The app came in listing a portable generator connection, but this 176-gpm pump station
is too large to only serve the school which is slated to be under 15K gpd. Thus, shouldn't
this station have a permanent one or pump since it will be more of a regional station
and serve more later?

The goal of the Fast Track sewer permit program is to issue a permit in no more than 30 business days from
receipt of a complete application and if no additional information has to be requested upon full
review. Please use the Department's Permit Application Tracker to determine the official application
receipt date to allow you to estimate a date for issuance and find the reviewer's name. Once issued, the
record stays on the site for 30 days.
For previously issued sewer permit info or to check on sewer certification receipt status, please use the
Division's Sewer Extension Permit Tracker. Using the Issue Date on top of the Engineer Certification Form
is best way to ensure getting what you want especially for multi -version permits; using today's date only
gives info on the latest permit version. Confirmation using this method will replace letters and emails; it is
recommended that confirmation be printed and/or saved.
