Michelin Aircraft Tire Company (MATC) is submitting the enclosed Notice of Intent (NOI) for coverage under
General Permit NCG050000 for the Michelin Aircraft Tire Company facility located at 40589 South Stanly School
Road in Norwood, Stanly County, North Carolina. The MATC facility is currently operating under an individual
permit, NPDES Permit #NCS000373. The MATC facility would like to transition from coverage under the existing
individual permit to a general permit, and is requesting coverage under General Permit NCG050000. Also enclosed
is a rescission request form for rescission of individual permit #NCS000373.
The process of transitioning from an individual permit to the general permit was discussed previously with Alaina
Morman of your department, who recommended submitting the NOI application and rescission request together
so that if the facility is approved for coverage under the general permit, the rescission can be processed
simultaneously.
