Doug Goodwin is currently designated as ORC and Robert Jackson is designated as Back-up
ORC.
The permit does not require metering water flowing to the lagoon. Wastewater flows to the
lagoon from four separate pipes. Three are "process water" and one is domestic. The
domestic wastewater flows through septic tank and a Cl tablet chlorinator. The tank is
pumped four times each year.
The flow rate reported on NDMR's is the total of the water pumped to the sprayfields. About
30,000 gallons of wastewater per week is being hauled to this facility from the other hatchery.
Application rates have risen to 11-18 inches per year which is within the 25.71" permitted.
The residual chlorine meter always reads 0.03. Staff intend to determine if it is working by
running more highly chlorinated water through it and looking for a response.
Levels in aeration lagoons are controlled by set overflow pipes which send flows to storage
lagoon. The level gauges appeared properly installed and easily legible.
Bob Branch profiled the lagoons for residuals. Lagoon 1 and 2 will be dredged in 2019 or
2020. One field was fertilized in 2019. The third cutting of hay is underway.

One aerator broke on Saturday. It will be repaired in 2 weeks. The aerator panel was
xeplaced4n401-$. One sprayfield pump was replaced since the last inspection. The liner in
lagoon 3 was patched.
Four wells are currently being sampled three times a year. All wells on the site have
permanently affixed tags, concrete pads and locked protective covers.
A soil sample was collected in April. No lime was recommended.
NDMR and NDAR records have been submitted complete and on time. 0&M documents, lab
results and other records were reviewed and were in good order.
The system is inside a fence and signs were posted to limit access per the permit. The lagoons
banks were covered with appropriate vegetation and appeared well maintained. The pump
runs on a timer. Flow is measured by a meter which is calibrated annually.
On the day of the inspection, the facility appeared to be well run and in compliance with
permit conditions
