September 30, 2019 Subject: Compliance Evaluation Inspection Red Oak Collection System Collection System PermitNo: %VQCSD0508 Nash County Dear ,Mayor Langley: it f4r! 19' On September 4, 2019, Cheng Zhang of the Raleigh Regional Office (RRO) Division of Water Resources conducted a Compliance Evaluation Inspection of the subject facility. The assistance and cooperation of Mr. Scott Farmer, the operator of the system, and 11r. Jonathan Boone, Nash County Utilities Director, were very helpful and appreciated. A checklist of items is enclosed with this letter. During the inspection the following items were noted: 1.) Town of Red Oaks holds a deemed sewer collection system permit in Nash County (Nash County Public Utilities Department is operating and maintaining the system). There has been no reportable sanitary sewage overflow (SSO) incidents from the collection system since the last inspection. 2.) The collection system includes gravity sewer lines. force mains, and two duplex pump stations. 3.) The facility maintains a map of the system to include all required elements. 4.) The facility has developed and implemented an operation and maintenance plan which Iists the frequency of system inspections, prey-entive maintenance schedule (right -or -way maintenance), and overflow response plan. 5.) Grease educational flyers are sent to all users semi-annually. 6.) During the inspection, the two pump stations were obsen-cd and found to be in good condition. 7.) The right-of-way behind 5378 Red Oak Road was maintained and accessible. Sewer line clearing has not been conducted since the system was built in 2007, preventive line cleaning and maintenance may be considered and planned in the future. If you have any questions regarding the attached report or any of the findings, please contact Cheng Zhang at: (919) 791-4200 (or email: cheng.zhanY-u ncdenri-gov). Sincerely, 447 Rick Bolich, L.G.
