Project, USACE Requested Additional Information, DWQ Project #09-0940
Dear Ms. Euliss:
Please find enclosed a copy of the additional information requested by Andy Williams of the United States
Army Corps of Engineers concerning the Duke Energy Dan River Combined Cycle Turbine Project.
Included in the enclosure are two updated figures, as well as a copy of the cover letter to Mr. Williams. .
The first figure (DNROC-DE-C-00-OO.SP-4) is a plan view showing the entire Project boundary, i.e.,
"Limits of Disturbance". No other areas of the property are proposed to be impacted by the Project and no
future projects are planned or proposed on the Project property. Moreover, no ground disturbing activities
are proposed beyond the Limits of Disturbance line shown on the figure. Given this additional information
and the information provided in the pre-construction notification, submitted August 26, 2009, the Project
as shown should be considered a single and complete project for permitting purposes.
The second enclosed figure (Figure 3) is an update of a previously submitted figure showing a detail view
of the jurisdictional areas proposed to be impacted. As shown, Wetland D (0.13 acre) will be filled to
construct the base for the turbine cooling towers;. Wetland C will be partially filled (0.003 acre) by the
cooling tower berm. Unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional features associated with the Project total 0.133
acre of permanent wetland fill.
Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact either me at (704) 342-7364 or
Mr. Scott T. Fletcher at (704) 342-7380.
Sincerely,
HDRIDTA
