STORMWATER PERMITTING
Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (MCB CAMLEJ) is requesting that
runoff from the permitted Compost Facility (Solid Waste Permit #67-10)
concrete pad aboard the Installation be disconnected from the Base
Wastewater Collection System (Permit #WQCS00015) and discharged to a
stormwater pond, before ultimately draining to a nearby drainage
ditch.
In accordance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) Permit #NCS000290, MCB CAMLEJ is requesting a review of
Landfill Stormwater Permit #SW8 011014, to ensure compliance with
disconnecting compost surge basin S1024 from the wastewater collection
system. If approved for discharge to stormwater, the existing surge
basin would be converted into a stormwater pond to treat compost pad
runoff before discharging to the drainage ditch.
