Inspection Summary:
Mikal Willmer and Brett Laverty, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a site visit of Case Farms Irrigation Fields on
September 23, 2019. This site visit was conducted to assess the new irrgiation fields proposed in Case Farms permit
modification request. Paul Taylor, Cindy McGinnis and John Harrison were present and assisted in the new fields
assessment.
Items noted during the site visit are below.
Facility is not planning on increasing flow into the system. The addition of irrigation fields is being requested to increase the
wetteable acreage since some irrigation areas cannot be used due to setback restrictions.
New Spray Fields: The permittee indicated the 1.41 acres of field that would need soil amendment are no longer going to be
used in the design. The Permittee will need to submit updated system information accounting for the reduced acreage.
GW Monitoring: Based on the site visit and new proposed spray locations, new monitoring wells are not being requested at
this time; however, an updated map with actual irrigation zones needs to be submitted before final determination.
